I'm definitely going to stick with and see what happens. I think once you pass a "break in" period and have fully acclimatized to practicing in this way, you should probably see a return to your 10k speed. I must say, the weirdest and hardest thing was not looking at the window where I was actually typing, but instead keeping my eyes fixed on the window I was reading from. Looking at the words in this section of an article that I have just typed from the Guardian newspaper website, they're on a par with English 10k. It's a great tip though because if you pick the right content, you get a lot of challenging words thrown at you. I think the best thing to do afterwards, provided you have the option is the paste the words you have typed into something like MS Word or Google Docs so that the spell check function can highlight where you have gone wrong. Of course, you get 100% accuracy in this mode. I have just tried this and I got 48.44 wpm.
